Research interests

Environmental factors and land-use affect soil communities and their functions. Genetic, taxonomic and functional soil biodiversity provide a wide range of ecological services. The value of soil biodiversity in agricultural land is considered from an economical perspective and an environmental quality protection. We have multi-functional approach using soil organisms which respond in time scales relevant to land management, as indicators of soil health. Two taxa differing in mobility and ecological functions: terrestrial isopods as detritivores, carabids as predators. This topic about the impact of anthropic activities is linked with the quality of aquatics habitats at the level of the catchment with the conservation of native crayfish and also studies about invasive crayfish species as Procambarus clarkii. This species is also studied in Brazil due to its recent arrival.

Keywords: biodiversity, agricultural practices, crustaceans, bioindicators, native species, conservation, habitat quality, invasive species.
