Research interest

Understanding and control of the development of Legionella and amoebae in water
Legionella pneumophila is a pathogenic bacterium that infects humans through inhalation of contaminated water droplets, which can cause pneumonia. This bacterium is found naturally in water and especially in biofilms. L. pneumophila grow mainly within amoebae. A better understanding of their ecology would lead to a better control of L. pneumophila development. We study both the interactions between the biofilm, L. pneumophila and amoebae, and the effect of treatments on these microorganisms.
