Programme EndoSymbArt « Endosymbiosis in Arthropods » (2006-2009)
The goal of the project is to decipher the genetic, molecular and cellular bases that govern the dynamics and evolution of symbiosis by using a comparative approach in three model systems: the weevil Sitophilus oryzae and its endosymbiont SOPE (nutritional symbiosis), the hymenopteran Asobara tabida and Wolbachia (recent transition to mutualism in which Wolbachia is necesary for oogenesis), the isopod Armadillidium vulgare and Wolbachia (manipulation of reproduction via feminization of genetic males).
