Etude de la communication cellulaire chez les micro-organismes.

Le Quorum Sensing est un système de communication basé sur la production de molécule signalétique qui permet à une population bactérienne de synchroniser l’expression de ses gènes, notamment les gènes impliqués dans la virulence et la formation de biofilm. Le but de nos études est de comprendre et de décrypter les mécanismes misent en jeu lors de ce mécanisme et de rechercher des méthodes alternatives ou des microorganismes capables de perturber cette communication.

I obtained my PhD in microbiology in 2012 at the Laboratory of Microbiology Signals and Microenvironment (LMSM) under the supervision of Pr Xavier LATOUR (University of Rouen, France) on the study of quorum sensing communication and quorum quenching strategy against potato soft rot pathogens. Then, I did a post doc at the LBCM under the supervision of Pr Alain DUFOUR on biofilm formation and quorum sensing communication from Agrobacterium rhizogenes. Finally, I joined the laboratory “Ecologie et Biologie des Interactions” in 2016 as assistant professor to work on quorum sensing and inter-kingdom communication of Legionella spp.

Research interests:

My research interests are to study quorum sensing communication in bacteria and inter-kingdom communication between bacteria and eukaryotic cells. Quorum sensing is a communication system based on the production of small signaling molecule that allows to a bacterial population to synchronize genes expression including virulence and biofilms formation. Bacteria can equally respond to eukaryotic signal that can modify them behavior.

The aim of my studies is to decipher the molecular mechanisms implicated in those communications systems in order to understand biofilm formation and infection steps in Legionella species and to research others potentials molecules implicated in those communication processes.
